John Thompson Thompson serves as a Senior Director with JRT Realty Group. Mr. Thompson is a veteran New York City commercial real estate specialist with more than 28 years in office leasing and commercial real estate advisory roles at the industry's leading firms. Formerly a senior managing director at Williamson Picket Gross, he was recruited by Cushman & Wakefield to help strengthen its growing Downtown Manhattan operations in 2006.
Mr. Thompson has extensive experience working on both sides of commercial real estate transactions. He has represented an array of corporate clients as well as many prominent Manhattan office buildings. Most recently, Mr. Thompson oversaw the leasing of 116 and 85 John Street in Lower Manhattan. He has represented such major corporations as Barclays Bank, MCI, Metropolitan Life, Hallmark Cards and Viacom.
Mr. Thompson has acted as leasing agent for 67 Broad St., 315 Park Avenue South, 140 East 45th St., 540 Madison Ave. and 1633 Broadway. He has advised clients on assignments involving brokerage, property acquisitions and dispositions, and property management. Previously, he was a managing director at the Galbreath Company and an assistant vice president at Cross & Brown in its leasing and sales division. Mr. Thompson began his real estate career at Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr. Thompson graduated from Union College, where he received his bachelor’s in economics. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
