Kimberly Brown of JRT Realty Group Named Among Women of Influence in Southern California's Commercial Real Estate Market


Award Acknowledges Professional and Civic Achievements


LONG BEACH, CALIF., Oct. 23, 2008 - Kimberly Brown, managing director of JRT Realty Group, Inc., the nation's largest certified woman-owned commercial real estate services firm, has been named among "Women of Influence" in Southern California commercial real estate. The award, given by Real Estate Southern California, recognizes the region's outstanding women who exemplify excellence in their field.

Brown, a resident of Long Beach, directs and oversees the firm's nationwide account management assignments, including operations, leasing and property and facilities management, totaling more than 16 million square feet. She also spearheads the firm's brokerage service teams on the West Coast as well as in the Midwest. Currently, she is providing strategic oversight for TIAA-CREF, whose national portfolio with JRT exceeds 15 million square feet. She also serves as a key liaison to the firm's strategic alliance partner, Cushman & Wakefield.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Brown has been instrumental in JRT's efforts to advance the concept of minority- and woman-owned businesses by awarding assignments to certified business enterprises in a wide range of fields, including architecture, construction/project management, building services and products. The firm was recently named the recipient of four awards from DiversityBusiness.com, the nation's leading multicultural Web site, which ranked JRT among the Top 500 Woman-Owned Businesses in America.

Established in 1996, JRT specializes in assisting Fortune 500 clients, government agencies and institutional entities to achieve their supplier diversity goals by expanding their vendor base to include women and minorities.

The firm is certified as a Minority- and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and National Minority Business Council (NMBC) and is a member of the Women Presidents' Educational Organization (WPEO). Recently she became involved in the Los Angeles Minority Business Opportunity Center.

In addition to her professional affiliations, Brown is active in a wide range of civic organizations committed to supporting women, young girls and at-risk youth. Her outreach extends to the Women's Shelter of Long Beach, a safe haven for women and children in crisis, as well as Jack and Jill of Long Beach, where she serves on the executive board and mentors children to help them achieve their full potential. Brown also is an official volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and is a Volunteer in Public System (VIP) in the Long Beach Public School System.
